There are some weird, yet practicaly ways to save money. Learning them might be proven to be especially useful.

Unorthodox ways to save money

Many people are struggling to find ways to save money so as to manage their finances more effectively. Not all people know how to make that happen though. What may come as a surprise to many people is that beside common ways, there are also some unorthodox ways to save money.

Bottled water

Bottled water might be considered to be more healthy, it is however more expensive, especially if you tend to drink more than 5 bottles of water every day. To reduce the cost, what you can do is use bottled water once every two weeks and then reuse that same bottle for a few days to fill it with tap water

Go to the movie theater early

If you start going to the movie theater before 6.00 p.m, you will usually pay less for the movie tickets. Another thing you can do to save money at the movie theater is to opt for discount movie theaters, where movie tickets usually do not cost more than $2. To resist the temptation to buy popcorn and refreshments that will the increase the cost, eat a snack before you leave home.

Use grocery store bags

Instead of buying garbage bags, you can use grocery store bags to keep and throw away the trash. They cost you nothing and can contain several stuff. That may be proven to be quite helpful, especially if you go to the grocery store often.

Keep the change

Get into the habit of keeping all the change on a specific money jar on a daily basis. Ask from all family members to do the same as well. That may not seem much, but over time, a big amount may be accumulated that can be put to better use. In order for this to work, you and your family need to show self -discipline though. Do not take more from the money jar unless there is a good reason.

Use empty jars

Instead of rushing to the store to supply yourself with new jars for jam, biscuits, coffee and sugar, you can use empty jars. Clean them thoroughly. decide what you should put in them and do it. It does not matter if they are old or do not look so good. As long as they are clean and can contain a sufficient amount of stuff, they are useful and taking advantage of that will save you money.

Go the extra mile

While unorthodox, all the above ways are easy and practical ways to save money without even realising it, simply by thinking outside the box. All you need is a little imagination.

For me, these methods are not weird at all. Once it was discovered that bottled water has a number of imputities in it, I stopped buying it. (A lot of Americans have stopped using bottled water.) I re-use jars, plastic bags, and other containers; I go to matinees if I go to a movie; put my change in a big jar; and do a number of other money-saving, and ecology-minded things. To me this is all part of thinking green and have been doing it for 20 years now.
