Do you find beggars intimidating and annoying or do you feel committed to give them your last coins? Read this before you give away your money!

Only the Wealthiest Beggars Can Afford the Trip to Norway

Norway is one of the richest countries in the world. Still you’ll be met by beggars if you visit Oslo and other big cities. Most of them are from Romania, and they come here hoping to get rich on the money given by friendly and naive people.

The fact is that only the wealthiest people come here. The trip itself cost about NOK 5000,- (approx. 900 USD) each way if you drive a car. Some of the beggars have left their children to starve with poor relatives in their home country.

Organized Begging

Most of them are organized. Even in my little home town have I seen beggars being dropped off on a street corner with their little cups. The car was a big expensive van. After a while they were picked up and dropped off somewhere else. The same group of people has been spotted on different locations in the county.

A middle aged man once approached me asking for money. His high quality coat was of a very expensive brand. Nothing could prove to me that he was a poor man in need of my hard earned money.

A friend of mine told me about a scene that she witnessed at a restaurant: Two poor looking young girls in ragged clothes were sitting on the pavement outside and begging. After a while they entered the restaurant and went straight to the restrooms. They came out all dressed up with makeup and fancy clothes. Eating out in Norway is very expensive, but they had a big lunch in the restaurant before the changed their clothes again and went back out to beg more. In the evening they were picked up by a brand new BMW.

She Stole the Old Man’s Wedding Ring!

An old man in his 80’s was always generous to the beggars. One day he gave an old woman some coins. He reached out his hand, and as he dropped the coins into her cup, she grabbed his hand and swiftly took off his wedding ring. He could feel his ring being pulled off his finger and immediately demanded to have it back. She opened her hand, but of course it was gone. All of a sudden she couldn’t speak one single word of Norwegian nor English. The ring he had been wearing every day for 60 years was gone! Do you think he’ll ever give a coin to a beggar again?!

Relief Work

A woman who has been engaged in relief work in Romania for 20 years told a newspaper that she was tired of beggars coming to Norway to get rich. The last time she visited Romania she noticed great homes or castles being built in the poor areas, most of them financed by money from Norway. One time she went to visit a family she had gathered toys and clothes for. She found it in their garbage.

The beggars often bring old women and sick mothers to gain sympathy. I have also read in the newspaper about mothers with sleeping babies in their lap. They sleep all day long because they are on heroin. Where do they get money for that?

If I can, I will help people who are struggling, but I will do it by buying one of the street magazines that addicts are selling. That’s honestly earned money. Otherwise I know where I will put my coins: In my piggy bank!

Hi Your Grace,
We have a lot of that going on here too.
I try to really look at them and see any signs that they are really sincere. Then I offer to buy them a meal. They usually say they just want the money. I had one guy jump out of the back of one of my trucks when I stopped at a light on the way to McDonalds! It showed the truth.
But.....Please don't let the REAL people in need pay for the bad guys. Don't let them harden your heart!
Always help those you can!
The world needs that!
Only the best,
Dan

Well that was the concubine of the husband who stole my wedded life and then ended up in the ditch as it all came to light with pictures. A Parallel family.

While I just remained true and sat and watched it all.
Another friend lost his wedding ring in the gym until he finally said he created a replica while the truth it was the original in the pocket so that he was given the licence to cheat.
I just told his wife what he was up to and after and walked out.
Husband knew too but he was no better.

Yes, it is sad, Sivarmakrishnan! It makes it hard to tell people in need from the people who are playing a game.
