Bullied Motorists. There's light at the end of the tunnel.

If you're fed up of traffic wardens and local councils behaving like the Gestapo, join the campaign for fair and decent behaviour. This is a David & Goliath story!

What's new.

The Motorists Legal Challenge have launched their campaign for justice. Any right-thinking person will applaud this laudable initiative. The 'parking industry' is a billion pounds a year 'business' and it's a racket.

Why the issue bothers me.

Actually, I've not had a parking ticket for years and never had a speeding fine. That's because everywhere I park, I carefully check signs and look for traps and ambiguity, knowing that if I make a mistake, I will be quickly jumped on. (It would be great if other areas of government activities were so efficient).
Even without a mistake, the draconian system in place could cost me dearly.

Regarding speeding, I am aware that speed traps are carefully set up to maximise income. It's not about safety, it's about generating revenue, a stealth tax. These speed cameras are simply cash cows.

Don't let the bullies get away with it.

I'm giving this campaign my full support now by sending a few quid and telling everyone I know about it. This is a great opportunity to change things.

I'll try not to make my writing too cathartic but it does you good to get things off your chest. I was lucky enough to retire early. I like preservation railways & books.
