In the quest to earn a living from home many stay at home moms and dads find themselves falling for scam opportunities that cost them money instead of allowing them to make money.

Are there legitimate work from home opportunities?

There are several legitimate ways to work from home and make money, without spending money. While there are many ways to accomplish a work from home status there are probably more scams than legitimate work from home jobs.

There are a few simple things to remember when looking into work from home jobs.
1. A job is not something you should pay for. Whether it is a list of companies that are hiring work from home employees or to access a website to find a legitimate job, the first indication that you are dealing with a scam or a useless source of information is if you have to pay for something before you find out what it is.
2. Some websites may have a membership fee but often have a free area so you can check out what is offered and even use the site without paying a membership fee. This enables you to check it out and see if it is what you are looking for before joining the site.
3. Many work from home jobs can overlap and work together. Some of these include blogging, using affiliates and integrating ads.

What sort of work from home jobs are legitimate?

Freelance writing for sites such as Associated Content, Demand Studios and Firehow, along with many others are legitimate work from home jobs that will let you make money.

Blogging on a site such as Blogger or NinerNiner, you can either publish your own blog and monetize it with affiliates and ads, or write for other peoples blogs and be paid for each post you make.

Reading and rating articles at a site such as Readbud will allow you to work from home and make a little bit of money each day.

Writing reviews of products for sites such as Reviewparty and Review Me are legitimate work from home jobs.

The important thing to remember about your work from home research is that you should always read the FAQ, terms and conditions and payment policies before you commit to a site or pay any sort of membership fee. Find out how and when you should expect to get paid and where that pay is coming from as well as exactly what you are expected to do to earn that money.

Thanks Patrice, I enjoy sharing what I have learned to help others be more successful, if it weren't for others helping me I wouldn't be in the position I am now working from home.

Thank you for such a informative article.
After the kids had left home and I was just sitting around, I went on a search for work at home jobs and all I could do was find scams, I just gave up. I am unable to work outside of the home because I am 21+ years into a muscle disease. I plan on looking into some of these sites.
Once again, Thank you hon.
