It's just before Christmas, when we all need to spend more money, and gas and electricty are now set to rise in price.

Gas and Electricity to rise, but why?

We are all trying to cope with the extra expense that happens at Christmas, and now, just as we enter December, we are told that Gas and Electricity suppliers are going to put their prices up by at least 7per cent. This will bring hardship to many people, with snow threatened this weekend, and at least 2 more weeks of extremely cold weather ahead of us.

The strange thing is, it was announced that these energy suppliers have enjoyed 40% profit this year, so why do they need to extract even more money out of people when we are still in the midst of a credit crunch, people are losing their jobs and their homes, and food has risen to an extremely high price too?

But all may not be doom and gloom, because the energy regulating body have decided to look into it, and see if the consumer is being taken advantage of. I will look forward to the results of this, and let’s hope we can all afford to keep ourselves warm without going bankrupt in the meantime.

Geesh Carol, just what y'all need. UGH!
We are going up here also.
They're also going to put a new tax on gasoline.
That too will hurt us working folks.
Thank you for sharing.:)

Hi Carol! I don't work so the only money coming in is my husband's. He has to work all the hours God sends just to keep the roof over our heads so an increase in Gas/Electricity Bills is NOT welcome in this household. I, too, look forward to the results from investigators and I hope it is favourable to the customer..for once! These companies make far too much money. I dread to think how the old and infirm are coping during this horrendous cold snap. :-(
