Learn some special ways to save at the warehouse clubs and traditional stores. Good thoughts to guide you to savings and satisfaction are revealed.

Insider Secrets About Warehouse Shopping Clubs

As a sales rep who serviced both warehouse shopping clubs and traditional supermarkets I know some information that can help with savings. Food and other products can be a bargain at the warehouse clubs if you really pay attention. In addition, some deals at the regular stores make it wise to pass up the warehouse deals.

Pay Attention To Stales

A huge box or even multiple bundled regular size boxes of crackers can be good savings at the warehouse stores. Watch the dates carefully at the warehouse stores. The product comes in the store in huge volume and I found it a challenge to assure proper rotation. Buying at a great price becomes a waste of money if the product goes stale.

Another factor to consider is the size of your family or group that is being bought for. If you have a large family or plan on doing an event that can use large quantities the warehouse stores usually have better prices. Even if a large container is available at the supermarket the price is usually greater because those stores do not buy at bulk wholesale prices.

Watch For Special Promotions

Warehouse clubs many times have special coupons exclusively on or near the product that is not available in regular stores. I sold many special bonus packs to the clubs that are only available there. Watch for flyers with special offers. Free items may be available with the purchase of an exclusive product.

Traditional stores feature loss leaders in advertising that are sold below cost to draw in customers. This may result in better prices than the clubs. Remember there is no law that states the larger size must be the lowest price. An advertised deal may be limited in quantity so the club makes buying easier for large groups.

Look At the Total Picture

Gas, electronics, travel, and a multitude of items are available at warehouse clubs. I found prices of electronics and travel to be less expensive at places specializing in those things. Fees required also should be calculated with the total prices at the clubs. If you do not spend much each year the fee can wipe out most of the savings.

Weigh the factors of travel time, convenience, and true costs at the clubs versus traditional stores. Live the good life by shopping where you are most happy and enjoy savings with a smile.
