Discussing if it really is possible to make money online taking surveys.

Make Money Online

When I first started looking into making money from home I thought online surveys was the way to go. I had heard about how you could make all this money doing online surveys at home on your computer. I thought this was amazing I was ready to give it a shot. What I found is explained in this article.

You always hear about people making an income doing online surveys, making five dollars or more for just 15 minutes of their time simply answering questions. I wanted to know if this was true. I began signing up for every online survey site I could find that paid cash. I didn't want to waste my time earning points or getting entered in a drawing. After all, I was in this to make money.

It wasn't long until I began receiving survey invitations to my email I was disappointed to see some of them they were offering 50 cents per fifteen minutes. I am naive tough, I thought well maybe you start low and work your way up. I took surveys for months, with every survey site I could find. Now they all did pay when I requested payment but the fact was I was trying to actually earn money doing this. I began figuring up how much I had earned, and how long it had taken me to earn this money.

This is what I found out. I was making about 2 dollars per hour for taking surveys. There are no sites out there who will pay you five dollars for fifteen minutes no matter what they say they do not do this. It is more like one dollar for a thirty minute survey and they get boring! I decided I was not going to waste my time on survey sites anymore.

So here are the facts. Although it is possible to earn money taking surveys, and the websites do pay you, this is not a way to actually earn an income for your family. Until the sites begin paying people better for the amount of time it takes to take a survey, I cannot afford to waste my time in order to 'get my opinion heard'. I also feel that most of the people who are taking surveys are actually just clicking to get to the end of the survey so they can get their dollar.

That being said, if you are experiencing writers block, or waiting for a client to get back with you, you can fit in a few surveys here and there, cashing out once per year may put an extra 50-100 dollars in your pocket so doing online surveys is not all bad, just not something you should depend on for a full time income.

I agree with you. They have a lot of hype but little money is earned.

Thanks for this tip. I am also looking for sidelines that can give me additional income, until my two children graduate from college hopefully next year.
