Enjoy DC for Less

Washington, DC can seem a pricey place to live, but it can be a lot cheaper with the right resources. While there are a lot of websites listing discounts and coupons, it can be time consuming to search for offers available from local retailers. These five sites offer extensive choices and considerable discounts for items and services in Washington, DC, such as groceries, restaurants, car care, personal care, local tours, night clubs, museums, travel packages, and more.

RetailMeNot has an extensive listing of coupons. Coupons are sorted into three tabs: coupon codes (for online use), printable coupons, and grocery coupons. The coupon codes page includes discount links that lead directly to retailers’ pages. It also has a side list of popular retailers in Washington, DC. The printable coupons page has a scrollable map of DC with flags indicating places offering coupons. Listings on this page are organized by retailers and can be filtered by category. Links lead to retailers’ coupon pages and the offers don’t have expiration dates. The grocery coupons page is searchable by zip code and you can print more than one coupon at a time.

Coupon Clipper

Coupon Clipper is run by Clipper Magazine, a print publication with local discount offers. The site includes all of the offers found in their magazine, plus online offers. You can also sign up to be notified by e-mail when the next print issue is released. You can search Coupon Clipper by category, most popular item, or zip code. Each retailer link on the sites listings leads to a page with all of the coupons offered by the retailer, retailers’ magazine ads, and any reviews posted by previous customers.

Trusted Tours and Attractions

Trusted Tours and Attractions offers discounts for local tours, museums, and other attractions. You can view all of the listings at once, or sort them by land, museum-zoo, water-cruise, walk-bike, specialty, or packages. The site also offers information about Washington, DC including a brief history, must-dos when visiting, descriptions of different neighborhoods, and details on annual events.

GoOut2Eat is a discount restaurant site specific to the Washington, DC metro area. Listings on GoOut2Eat are sponsored by the restaurants, and each restaurant may offer more than one coupon. Offers are grouped into Maryland, Virginia, and Washington, DC offers. Each listing includes the restaurant’s address, phone number, neighborhood, and a link to details of their offers. You can also sign up to have GoOut2Eat offers sent to your mobile phone or your e-mail account.

ValPak is mainly known for the coupon-packed, blue envelopes they mail to area residents. But ValPak also has a website. ValPak’s coupon site includes all of the offers found in their mailings, as well as additional online-only offers. You can view all of the offers at once, or see them sorted by auto, beauty, entertainment, general, grocery, health, home, professional, restaurants, and shops.
