Surviving These Hard Economical Times

What can we as a nation do to keep our kids from going to bed hungry?

Times are hard for us all

I know I'm not alone in saying today's economical struggles are hard for a lot of people today. We are never alone. The cost of gasoline may have come down, but the cost of living continues to rise.

Does the media truly not see?

It's funny, an article I read on Facebook from our local news station. The article stated with the cost of gas coming down, companies are having to pay less for transporting their goods. It then proceeded to say those savings are being passed on to the consumer by cutting prices on the goods...and how do we feel about that? I had to stop and think. What cuts? I certainly haven't seen any. I read some comments and it appears I am not alone.

Struggles are real.

I am a lucky one as my children are grown and living on their own. My daughter is doing well, my son, not so much. Food banks are feeding more and more people all the time. Homeless shelters seem to be fuller than ever. Kids are relying on free school breakfast and lunch to be fed. What can we do to help? Could restaurants not throw their unsold food out, and instead freeze and donate it? Just a suggestion.
