A story about how unexpected mail can change your day.

Empty purse, Head full of worry

Last week, I was feeling down in the dumps because I had some unexpected financial committments come up which couldn't be postpooned. So I had to withdraw the money I was trying to save on my bank account. I felt a little depressed about having to spend the money but it had to be done.

An unexpected $100 came in handy

Then some more things came up and my head started spinning. I had to go back on the bank and withdraw the remnants. My head stopped spinning, and the rest of the world started to spin instead! I kept checking the account to see if it was still open or if it was automatically closed because of the absence of funds, knowing that payday was still far away. However, the next morning I received a call from the accounting department at work which informed me that there was a cheque there for me. Some funds paid to me from the health insurance plan. I was in disbelief at first because I hadn't gotten back much in monetary returns from this plan. Anyway, I went and picked up the cheque and looked at the amount. It was a hundred dollars! I almost wept with joy! After such a rough month financially, that cheque represented a reduction in the weight I was feeling in my stomach everytime I thought about the absence of money in my purse. I felt like a millionaire with that hundred dollars! Just goes to show that you don't need to possess a million dollars to feel like a millionaire.

I can be very weird and unusual I suppose. I love to learn and read; I like to write about life experiences, histrory and poetry.
