Where The Prosperity Preachers Goofed
The blessings of God are exclusively for the righteous, faithful and penitent believers. After all, not everybody created by God will enter the kingdom of God (Matt 7:21). It is for the selected few. Yet He created us all, but being a righteous God, He will only give to those who deserve it. Those in whom He is well pleased.
Recipient of God's Blessings
Sometime towards the end of 1997, I was listening to a Television Christian Programme where a Pastor of one of the New Generation Churches was preaching and publicizing or advertising his next coming "Powerful Programme" in which he claimed there would be assorted miracle. In his quest to woo and attract mass attendance, he declared: "Miracle '98, "Come and receive your miracle, Faith or no Faith !" He goofed !
I wondered if the "Blessings and Miracles " he was talking about will be coming from God or from himself. I also wondered if he was truly a Man of God; because I am convinced and fully persuaded that God will not bless unrepentant sinners. The Holy Scriptures in its several pages has proved that, beyond reasonable doubt. The prosperity Preachers will not hit the nail on the head concerning the category of people who are actually and truly qualify to receive the blessings of God.
KISSING GOES BY FAVOUR
I once watched a programme on television where a young man kissed a pretty lady by force. The lady reacted by slapping the man three times! That means she would never have allowed him to kiss her under normal circumstances, probably because she dislike him or did not think him worthy of such privilege. But because he had forcefully taken what he did not deserve, he had to pay dearly for it, hence the three slaps from the angry lady. How can you possibly receive a good and perfect gift from someone who dislike you?; or attempt like a thief to reap where you did not sow?
When a lady hates a man, she will never offer her lips to him for a kiss. However, allowing a kiss from a man suggest that the lady has some amount of likeness or love for him. This means that kissing is a mark of favor. The same is true of God and His blessings.
When it comes to individual blessing, God gives to those He loves. When God is pleased with you He blesses you. God does not usually bless unrepentant sinners.
The Scripture says, "He that covers his sins will not prosper, But whoever confesses and forsakes them will have mercy" (Pro. 28:13)
If a sinner is prospering, certainly it is not from God, for not every blessing comes from God. For every good thing in life the devil has the duplicate but it is counterfeit. All that glitters is not gold.
Naturally, every parents love and cherish obedient, respectful and well- behaved child; and they will go any length to provide and satisfy his or her needs as against a stubborn, disobedient, and trouble-shooting child.
The same is true of God.
Kissing goes by favor.
