Health Insurance policy: Is there a need!

Increase in insurance cost and jobs that offer full coverage are difficult to find and are causing many families to think if they can do without any health insurance coverage. As insurance cost may be high, it seems that this one change can have a huge benefit on a tight budget.

There are a few things to consider before you cancel your coverage.

1. Everyday medical expenses keeps on increasing: How much do everyday health expenses such as prescriptions, check ups, and miscellaneous health-related bills cost? If you already taken such insurance, you would undoubtedly be surprised to know that many people pay hundreds of dollars each month on these routine expenses- which are generally covered by medical insurance.

2. Emergencies happen without warning: You may not know if tomorrow is the day you will slip on the wet floor in your kitchen and break a leg, or get to know that you have a life threatening illness. When such unexpected events happen, the first and the last thing you'll worry about is whether you can afford a health care you desperately need.

3. Insure now or worry later: Suppose, if you're diagnosed with a age-long illness the day after cancellation of your coverage. If you decides to buy health insurance again, that illness is now a pre-existing condition, and many companies often don't cover pre-existing conditions. If they offer, it means higher payments. This means, once again, you have to choose between your medical care and other essential expenses--a potentially dangerous choice.

Can you afford to do without insurance? That is what I would like to ask you.
